Paying Tribute to Executive Assistants and Admin Professionals

This site is a tribute to my fellow Executive Assistants and Admin Professionals. From the awesome EAs assisting a President, CEO, COO, Vice President and whatever they call the Top Executive in your company, to the Junior Admin Assistants and Newbies - this site is for you.

I started this website to share my experience as an Executive Assistant. It's one of the most challenging jobs and I'd like to give some insights on what I've learned. Who am I to give my colleagues advice? Do I think I'm a perfect EA? Geez, no. This is a portal where you can read all about the challenges you and I go through everyday, share best practices and just hang out.

The title "Executive Assistant" is often misunderstood and underestimated. It is a position that Secretaries and Admin Assistants aim for... it's THE ultimate reward and pinnacle of a career in the administrative field. When you succeed as an Executive Assistant, you can easily move on to Project Administration or Management or another line of work entirely. The experience is invaluable and you will acquire many skills that you can use to further your careers... and improve your lives.

In the olden days, an Assistant meant someone who brought the bosses coffee or the daily newspaper. Secretaries would screen their phone calls and visitors, arrange their meetings and manage their calendars. On special occasions, they'd reserve a table at the boss's favorite restaurant. They will photocopy and file important documents and send out memos when required. You know the stereotype, right?

Modern EAs still do these things, (ok, maybe not the newspaper part) but these tasks are only a small part of what we do. Nowadays, EAs are the boss's right hand - acting as their voices and implementing arm. We play a vital role in the Executive Office. Top Executives have discovered how their EAs can help bring order to their professional lives.

Their EAs represent them, spy for them, shields them from unnecessaries, keeps them up-to-date and helps them meet the everyday demands on their time. The value add makes EAs a very important and powerful member of an organization in terms of access and influence.

So, what's the life of an Executive Assistant REALLY like?
STEP INSIDE THE DRAGON'S LAIR and Find Out...

I hope this site will be able to help you make the most out of your privileged, stressful and often misunderstood and envied position :)
